- Sports Development Programs build links between the sport and recreation industry, community, education and training
- Sports Development Program students are involved with the local community and councils and assist with the planning and running of events and programs
- The Sports Development Program curriculum address issues around participation and health, motivation and connectedness, social inclusion and links with the community
- The program engages students from a range of ethnic backgrounds in local sport, physical activity and community involvement through participation
- Increasing the involvement of young people in Primary School sport focusing on health, fitness and participation objectives
