Arena Theatre Company creates inspiring live performances that have a genuine engagement with young audiences aged 5 to 25 years. Over the Company’s 45-year history it has sustained an international reputation for excellence as a theatre maker driven by the complex range of experiences encountered by young people in today’s world. Arena productions are created by professional artists and performers, involving young people in the development stages of work to ensure its authenticity.

With its office and rehearsal space based in North Melbourne, the Company regularly performs its work at local, national and international venues and festivals. Venue partners for recent productions include the Arts Centre, Malthouse Theatre, Sydney Opera House, Sydney Theatre Company and Brisbane Powerhouse. Arena has also toured internationally to Asia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada.

Arena Theatre Company is supported by the Australian Government through the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body; Arts Victoria and the City of Melbourne.
